Deborah Shouse will discuss Connecting in the Land of Dementia: Creative Activities to Explore Together

OPEN HOUSE EVENT OVERVIEW:  Deborah Shouse, Ron Zoglin and Musical Guests Rod Fleeman & Cynthia Schroer, will Present a lively Program based on Deborah’s New Softcover Connecting in the Land of Dementia: Creative Activities to Explore Together

Join us for this lively talk that offers family, friends, and professional care partners ideas for staying connected throughout the dementia journey. Author Deborah Shouse has interviewed 70 innovators who offer easy and meaningful activities you can enjoy together. These easily doable and adaptable projects— music, art, movies, cooking, storytelling, gardening, movement and many more-- can foster stronger relationships, renew hope, and ignite a sense of purpose both for people who are living with dementia and for their care partners.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:  Deborah Shouse is a writer, speaker, editor and dementia advocate. She has an MBA but uses it only in emergencies. Her writing has appeared in a variety of publications including The Washington Post, Huffington Post, The Natural Awakenings, Reader’s Digest, The Chicago Tribune and Unity Magazine. Deborah has been featured in many anthologies, including more than four-dozen Chicken Soup books.

Deborah and her partner Ron Zoglin raised more than $80,000 for dementia programs by donating all proceeds from her initially self-published book, Love in the Land of Dementia: Finding Hope in the Caregiver’s Journey, to dementia-based non-profits. Central Recovery Press has since published an updated version of Love in the Land.
