ABOUT GRATEFUL AMERICAN: In Gary Sinise's New Hardcover Memoir Grateful American: A Journey from Self to Service, he chronicles his never-before-told journey, from aimless teen to an Advocate, Actor, and Author with a purpose: a mission to support and raise awareness for the men and women who selflessly put themselves in harm’s way in service to our country. The message Sinise wants to deliver in Grateful American is clear: He loves his country and he’s forever grateful to be an American, thankful for the blessings he’s received as a citizen. He understands where his freedom comes from and he does not take for granted the sacrifices of those who provide it. He hopes that Grateful American will help ensure America’s defenders and their families are never forgotten. As he looks back on his life’s journey and sees anew the ups and downs, he feels fortunate that he went from caring about not too much more than his own career to becoming a passionate advocate of our nation’s defenders. “It’s my hope that as I share these stories from my life, you will be entertained and maybe even inspired too – empowered to overcome obstacles, embrace gratitude, and engage in service above self,” states Sinise.
